180 Degree Rule

180 Degree Rule 

When producing a film there is a rule that must be followed this is called the 180 degree rule.

The rul states that if there is an element or characters that are being filmed in the scene must have the same left to right relationsgip. For example when filming the first character on their right, the othere character must also be filmed on the right otherwise when it comes to editing prosee there will be continuity errors and it wouldn't look seamless. As You can see the camera red has gone on the other side this term is called crossing over the line and this shot will now beknown as the reverse shot and not the shot you originally wanted.
